Benefit Tractor Ride
A 501(c)3 Nonprofit Community Organization
Louie Hintz, Russ Kleinschmidt, and Bill Carpenter founded The Omro Ridn’ for a Reason tractor ride in 2010. They all shared a simple vision: to celebrate our agricultural roots and bring the community together by helping those in need.
For over a decade and a half, this event has grown from a small gathering into a local tradition, with tractors of all makes and models rolling through the Wisconsin countryside.
In 2026, the ride began a new chapter. To ensure this tradition continues for another 16 years and beyond, we officially transitioned into a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. This formal structure provides the legal and financial foundation necessary to protect the event's future, ensuring that the legacy started in 2010 continues to grow responsibly and transparently.
This year, the ride is dedicated to the memory of Wesley Reed Potratz. Through our newly established Relief Fund, 100% of our net proceeds are dedicated to providing financial assistance to local families facing unexpected hardships and crises.
When you join us, you aren't just a participant—you are a member of a community that pulls together. Whether you’re behind the wheel of a tractor or cheering from your front porch, you are helping us ride for a reason.
Here's what you can expect:
Tractor/Wagon Ride: The day will begin with a 20 mile tractor ride, open to all participants. Those without a tractor can still join in by riding on the wagon.
Potluck Picnic: After the ride, we’ll gather for a potluck picnic. Everyone is welcome to bring a dish, but there will be plenty of food for all to enjoy.
Raffle Baskets & 50/50: We’ll have raffle baskets filled with great prizes and a 50/50 drawing.
Live Music: We’ll have Seventh Day Band providing live music, creating a fun and relaxed atmosphere for all to enjoy.
This event is a wonderful opportunity to come together, enjoy good food, and make a difference in our community. We hope to see you there!
